Laurence Elias earned his M.F.A. at California College of the Arts in 2018. His A.B. is from Princeton University, and he has completed a "Post-Bacc" Certificate in Visual Art at U.C. Berkeley Extension. He has also pursued studio art studies at the Kala Institute in Berkeley, Stanford University, and at the University of New Mexico.
Laurence has exhibited at Krowswork and The College Street Galleries in Oakland, as well as Hubbell Street and Embark Galleries in San Francisco. He was in the CCA 2018 MFA Thesis Exhibition, held at the Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco.
During 2019 he had a solo show entitled "Reflect/Spirit/Light" at the Sebastopol Center of the Arts, as well as juried shows entitled "The Naked Print" at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts; and "Art + Motion", juried by Maria Porges, at GearBox Gallery in Oakland. More recently, his work was in a 2020 show at Berkeley Art Center juried and curated by Griff Williams, and entitled "Some Speechless Thing".
Laurence was born in Brooklyn, NY and now lives and works in Berkeley, CA.
